bride and groom

This week Jimmy and I are celebrating our 4 year wedding anniversary. Not a huge milestone, but at this point we certainly feel settled into this whole marriage thing. And it’s amazing.

There’s something so special about having a partner, a friend and a sounding board, someone who truly gets it, to ride the waves of life with you through the best and worst of days.

It’s not always easy and it’s definitely not always pretty. But when it’s right, it’s magical in an indescribable and perfectly nonsensical type of way.

It’s funny how each day seems to creep by so slowly, yet 4 years has flown by so quickly. Life is a funny thing.

We have been looking back on some of our favorite moments from that most magnificent day nearly 4 years ago, and I want to share them with you.

“I will always be right here to hold you. A place to rest when you’re in need. I will always bring passion and virtue, you can find comfort in me.” – Jimmy in his original song, “Always.”

“Seeing you walk down the aisle so perfectly unique, has painted cross my mind my most beautiful memory.” – Jimmy in his original song, “No Shred of Doubt.”

“I know we held a bond before we’d ever spoken. Joined by the forces, a peerless mystery. Love is the chorus of the melody we’re livin’ a state of earthly sanctity.” – Jimmy in his original song, “2am Moon.”

“I want you to know you’re my saving grace. When the frame of my heart came crumbling apart you built it back in place. Wonders may meet the eye but none so true, as the beautiful soul shimmering gold that lives inside you.” – Jimmy in his original song, “Hanna”

“You found a way to me through oil burning wreckage. Is there a word for how you make me feel?” – Jimmy in his original song, “2am Moon.”

“There ain’t no shred of doubt, you’re the one that my heart loves.” – Jimmy in his original song, “No Shred of Doubt.”

Leading up to our wedding day, Jimmy taught himself how to play the guitar. At our reception he played and sang me Jack Johnson’s “Angel.” One of my fondest memories of the day. And yes, he is an actual saint. I’m not sure that I deserve him.

My grandparents were celebrating their 50th anniversary within just a few weeks of our wedding. We surprised them with their very own cake that matched ours. Exactly who stuck their fingers in the cake to make that mark still remains a mystery…

My other grandparents won the “who’s been married the longest” dance, as they have at all of their grandkids’ weddings. Quite the honor.

My parents (left) and Jimmy’s parents (right) dancing. Both have been married over 30 years. We are blessed to have such role models.

Sneaking off for a sweet treat and literally living my best life.

Dancing with my mom and 2 aunts to Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass,” one of my favorite pictures of the night.

April 16, 2016 is a day we will forever look back on with joy, laughter and gratefulness.

Cheers to life, love, pretty wedding pictures and the memories that surround them.
