green and gold dinner party

We recently got our precious babe Grace dedicated in the church. Kind of the non-denominational version of a christening. What it really means is that we (her parents, me and Jimmy) are dedicating ourselves to raising her in the faith. To know and love Jesus. Possibly the most important thing we will do in our lives.

To celebrate we had our family over for a green and gold dinner party. Everyone has such busy lives and is scattered geographically, so anytime we are able to get together with my entire family plus Jimmy’s entire family is a very, very special celebration. Which means our dinner had to express that! I had so much fun creating this nature inspired, clean and budget friendly aesthetic.

Hope you enjoy!

Menu

  • Charcuterie: the beautiful monogrammed charcuterie pictured above was created by my mother-in-law, who took a class last year on how to make fancy charcuterie boards. I’d say she got a good return on investment.
  • finger snacks (pretzels with hummus, fresh fruit, raw veggie platter): supplied by my sister, the snack and appetizer queen.
  • Green salad with homemade zesty Italian dressing: planning to create a post on this yummy dressing and will link when it’s done
  • Jimmy’s homemade spaghetti and meatballs with red sauce (regular + GF options)- 4th generation family recipe
  • GF artistic sugar cookies: Kookies By Kirkpatrick which you HAVE to use if in the Pittsburgh area. Luckily I have connections so can get them brought to Nashville 😉
  • Cake: thanks to my mom (mémé) for the elegant design and Julia’s Bakery for bringing to life
  • Wine & beer: Costco all day everyday. The Kirkland brand cabernet sauvignon is amazing for the price point

A perfectly cozy and intimate celebration to commemorate our girl’s special day. I pray we live up to our promise and all that it entails, for Grace to know and love Jesus and bring honor and glory to His name in all that she does.

God Bless Grace Eloise.
