Breakfast at Tiffany's bridal shower

My sister’s favorite color has always been “Tiffany blue”. And ever since that episode of Gossip Girl where Serena throws Blair a surprise Breakfast at Tiffany’s bridal shower, we knew that absolutely had to be Holly’s bridal shower theme. The only thing we were missing was the groom…

Fast forward some years and we have a groom, y’all! A groom that so perfectly compliments Holly’s fun spirited, caring, sassy take on life. Finally our vision of her Breakfast at Tiffany’s bridal shower could come to fruition.

When beginning to plan the event, we chose to host the shower in the Pittsburgh area since that is where most of the bridesmaids and guests are located. My first choice (and only choice, really) to suit this theme was The Johnston House located just north of Pittsburgh. I was first introduced to this gem a few years ago when I had afternoon tea with some of my girlfriends from PA school. The Johnston House is by far the most amazing small event venue in the Pittsburgh area.

The Johnston House staff was so lovely to work with. The beautiful space speaks for itself with its timelessly stylish vibe, elegantly neutral color scheme and feminine details. Everything from the first encounter to the day-of service was impeccable. And we are mid pandemic, y’all, so you can imagine the last minute changes we had to make along the way! Honestly I really can’t say enough good things about The Johnston House.

I want to specially thank Holly’s lovely bridal party for helping bring this shower to life: Stacy, Danielle, Ashleigh, Rachel, Stephanie, Carmen.

And another special thank you to my Aunt Gigi and cousin/soul sister Ashleigh for helping me capture moments of Holly’s sweet day.

My mom is known for creating the most amazing wine carts for “a year of firsts”. She started this at my bridal shower over 4 years ago, and has since gifted a few others. This “Tiffany blue” themed wine cart is her most beautiful creation yet.

The first course included a savory, satisfying tomato basil soup. Followed by a fresh and slightly sweet summer berry salad. Then the tea accompaniments which included (but were not limited to) the most delicious chicken salad, cheesy quiche, and perfectly textured scone. The Johnston House staff was also extremely accommodating to gluten free guests.

hand sanitizer

You simply cannot host an event mid pandemic and not offer hand sanitizer…

It’s not a real shower until the bride opens lingerie. Also, isn’t she just radiant, y’all?!

These 2 amazing serving dishes came from our absolute favorite home store, La Bella Vita Interiors.

bride opening gifts

Holly’s dear friend and bridesmaid, Stacy, organized a special gift for her which included a heartfelt letter and pictures from each girl in her bridal party. A keepsake for sure.

Our mom is queen.
