Have you ever strategically packed your lunch so you have something special to look forward to during your workday? Whether yes or no, you must keep reading. Below are some healthy(ish) and super simple snacks to look forward to when your alarm sounds at 5:30am for another day in the grind.
I found all of these lovely snacks at Whole Foods during one of my Thursday lunch excursions, however they are also available at Amazon.com, and at many chain grocery stores like Kroger and Publix.
Siete Grain Free Tortilla Chips: Nacho Flavor
Like Nacho Doritos, but grain free. Other flavors available are Ranch, Fuego, Sea Salt, Lime, and a few others. You can buy them on Amazon.com, but cheaper at most local grocery stores in the chip aisle.
Simple Mills Farmhouse Cheddar Almond Flour Crackers
If you’re a fan of Cheez-Its but trying to lower your carb count, you must try these. The ingredient list is beautifully natural, the taste is a comforting crunchy cheesy deliciousness. Sometimes using almond flour as a substitute for wheat flour creates an odd texture or taste, but Simple Mills has done a fantastic job of avoiding that with these crackers.
Smashmallow Strawberries & Cream Crispy Rice Treats
Simple, pure ingredients and a sweet, delightful taste. These pair particularly well with a cup of coffee or tea during your workday.
Roasted and Salted Shelled Pistachios
A coworker brought this gem to my attention last year. It may seem simple, but a handful of roasted pistachios can really satisfy a salt craving. Check the ingredient list to be sure they are not roasted using an unhealthy oil (i.e. canola, vegetable oil, etc.). You want the ingredient list to only include pistachios and salt (like this 365 brand found at Whole Foods).
Tip: buy shelled pistachios to prevent overeating. Nuts are a superfood, but calorie dense, so having to manually de-shell them results in eating fewer and at a slower pace by default.
Evolved Keto Cups Hazelnut Butter
If you’ve joined the keto craze and are craving a chocolately treat, this is a great option. It’s basically the keto version of a Ferrero Rocher, which is one of God’s gifts to mankind.
Note: this is the only snack in this list that is not yet available on Amazon.com.
Justin’s White Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups
Chances are if you’re a natural foods enthusiast you’ve already tried these. If you haven’t and you like happiness, you should.
Little Secrets Chocolate Pieces Peanut Butter in Dark Chocolate
The “little secret” is that these are literally peanut M&M’s without weird artificial ingredients and a much less processed taste. Perfection for a workday afternoon slump.
Have you tried any of these? Any suggestions for other healthy and easy office snacks?
