About
A bit about Hanna…
Hey y’all, I’m Hanna. I live in the Nashville area with my saint of a husband, Jimmy, angel of a daughter, Grace, and sweet fur babies Jackson and Carson. I work as a physician assistant specializing in regenerative medicine, wellness and aesthetic medicine. I care for some amazing patients and spend a considerable amount of time on my lunch breaks Googling new local restaurants and shopping Kate Spade sales (seriously though… these are dangerous). I go to the Whole Foods hot bar for lunch every Thursday to reward myself for [almost] making it through another week (slightly dramatic, but a girl’s gotta treat herself). I get such a thrill from shopping at farmer’s markets that I’ve been brainstorming the idea of my own booth for years. I believe our bodies have the ability to heal themselves if we care for them well enough. I prematurely attempted to bring back the neck scarf in my early college years, and much to my dismay failed miserably, however I am SO happy this fabulous accessory is back en vogue. As a new mama thoughts of how to properly balance motherhood and a successful career frequently keep me up at night. My guilty pleasure is without a doubt reality TV, nothing helps me unwind quite like a heated episode of Real Housewives of New York (Sonja, I love you). My life, like the lives of most women today, is busy and stressful. Despite the unrelenting obstacles of this modern age, I am fiercely determined to holding myself accountable in actively and intentionally choosing joy every. single. day.
What is Grace in the Grind?
Grace has always been a favorite word of mine. To me, “grace” means many things. Grace is the undeserved and merciful love given to us by Jesus. Grace is showing kindness and compassion in an often cruel and unforgiving world. Grace is an attitude, a way of exuding poise, humble confidence and strength despite feeling the opposite.
“The grind” is…well… I think we all know what the grind is. The struggle of balancing work + family + social life + health + looking halfway decent is REAL, my friends.
Grace is also the name we chose for our daughter. My fearfully and wonderfully made Grace Eloise. My true, actual Grace in the grind.
Grace in the Grind is a creative space where I can share my thoughts on the world, and maybe even inspire (or at least validate) one or two others along the way. Topics covered include anything and everything from food to style to parenthood to health (I can’t help this one… it’s my duty as a PA…). Grace in the Grind documents my family’s genuine attempt towards finding beauty in our everyday routine, joy in the journey (not just the destination), gratitude in the best and worst of times, grace in the grind of our over-scheduled and wonderfully messy lives. Grace in the Grind is 100% real, 100% of the time. Thank you for reading!
I can’t wait to read more about your beautiful journey.
Wonderful reading. you are blessed
So excited about this 😍
At my age it truly is a grind. When you have retirement on the horizon it is so difficult to approach each work day with fresh ideas and zeal. Maybe I can get a new perspective here. Thanks!
Hanna, so proud of you and how far you have come from working for me in your high school years. I always knew that you would succeed. You always had focus and determination. I will look forward to reading your blog.
